My painting, Convergence I, won a Top 20 Award in the Minted + West Elm Art Challenge back in March and the print is now available exclusively on Minted.com! This is the first time I have made a painting available as a print and I couldn't be happier with the results.
I'm excited to report that I am included in Fresh Paint Magazine, Issue IV. My work was selected out of hundreds of submissions from across the country and I am honored to be included in this group of 20 selected artists. Fresh Paint Magazine is a quarterly online and print publication inspired by talented emerging artists and writers.
I currently have six paintings featured at Pies & Pints Public House in the Roosevelt neighborhood of Seattle. The show is curated by Joel Heflin of Mainframe Art Gallery.
"Kelly Johnston’s atmospheric paintings consist of deceptively simple line work and colorful undertones that resemble sky and ocean settings and patterns. Kelly’s paintings, however, do not limit the viewer to reflect on a static, immovable image of a landscape, but invites new perspectives to her work with each viewing. The result is an almost unlimited new and fresh experience with her paintings each time one sees them. We’re pleased to present them."
